How To Look Good When You're In A Rush

If you are anything like me, your schedule and life are incredibly hectic. Juggling my business and my personal life doesn’t leave much free time, and what spare time I do have, I want to spend being intentional with my husband, family, and friends. Often I spend 30 minutes or less getting ready in the morning and find that shortening my makeup routine is the easiest way for me to carve out a few extra minutes in my day.

Below are a few tips and steps that I swear by – broken down by makeup, outfit, and hair to help you look your best even in a rush!

If you are in a hurry, it goes without saying that you will need to sacrifice your whole makeup and skincare routine. Instead, you will have to opt for the bare bones of your makeup routine.

First, apply moisturizer, sunscreen, and concealer. I also recommend skipping the first two steps and just using a tinted moisturizer with SPF (I love Laura Mercier’s). Forget the foundation and instead apply bronzer to your cheekbones and forehead to bring depth to your face, and lastly, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks to get a youthful glow.

Next, you will want to focus on your eyes. Brush your eyebrows upwards (fill in if you have the time), curl your eyelashes, and apply multiple coats of mascara.

If you feel too naked without eyeshadow, use your bronzer as eyeshadow and apply it to your creases. Finish with a tinted chapstick!

Dry shampoo is my best friend when I am in a hurry.

If you don’t have time to shower or wash your hair, simply spray an ample amount of dry to the crown of your head, rub it in, and toss your hair into a messy bun or low pony-tail. If your hair is lacking volume, add a little bit of texture spray. Finish by tucking away any flyaway strands, and you are good to go.

Now that your face and hair are complete, the last step to your routine is to get dressed. My favorite way to look professional, stylish, and put together while still saving time getting ready is to throw on a comfortable outfit like a wrap dress or a shift dress. I like to wear hats, personally it can make a bad hair day look like the bomb with a stylish hat. I always pair it off with ballet flats or comfortable boots ( If you’re like me and rugged I’ll put on a boot and call it a day ). If you have to wear pants for some reason, try a nice pair of linen slacks and a comfortable silk shirt. I promise you will look fabulous and comfortable. You can pair this outfit with ballet flats as well to look très chic.

Voila! You are now ready, looking fabulous, and ready to tackle your day. Looking good doesn’t have to take hours! There are so many simple steps that you can take to look and feel good while saving precious time. Let me know in the comments how else you save time and look good when you are in a rush. Talk to you in the next post!
